The Paper Element Challenge

What Gets You Through The Holidays?

Well we made it through Christmas. Some of us may still have family and friends still around or we may be at their home. In my case, we will be traveling there for New Years day. Still things are crazy. I take a moment and cuddle up in a chair with my Starbuck's latte and my latest magazine and escape for a moment from it all. So what is it you do to get away from it all, even if it is just for a moment? Come join our challenge and scrap about it for a chance to win some Paper Element goodies. (no need to use our products) Just follow the link here

Almost Here!

Well, in two days Santa comes down the chimney! Hayden is so excited. As soon as he saw that I wrapped presents, he was begging me to unwrap them. I had to pull out the "Santa doesn't bring bad little boys presents" saying. Lol, it's been my best friend lately. I wish I could hold that over his head all year long, but somehow I don't feel it would work. It still feels so strange that Christmas is almost here. This year has just flown by with our move. I mean the time is just gone. I still don't have my house in order.

Anyway, from my house to yours, we are wishing you all a happy and merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.

I am a new Dreamgirl and winner over at Scrap N Win

After returning from our trip to Louisiana, I was pleased to receive an email telling me that I would be a new dreamgirl! If only my hubby thought so! I also received an email this morning stating that I won grand prize and first prize for traditional lo over at Scrap N Win. Above is my lo that one. It's an old one, but man the work that went in to that thing!! I was about ready to pull my hair out before I finished it!!

Thanks Debbie and Delores for making me a Dreamgirl! And, thank you judges over at Scrap N Win for choosing my lo!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Hope you all (well, my American friends and family that is) had a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving. Did you stuff yourself sick like I did? Brett's family always has way too much food and so much of everything. In Cajun country, you "know" they know how to feed their family!! We just got back in last night from our drive back. It was much better than going. Only a one - one hour wait in bumper to bumper traffic this go around. Driving there was a nightmare!! We traveled at least three times in one hour traffic jams and all because of silly little fender benders!!

Now, to get ready for Christmas!! Hmmm, I am so undecided about getting a real tree or put up my artificial tree - oh, what to do? :) Gotta decorate though! Hayden is old enough to get excited about having a tree. It was always one of my favorite memories as a child. I would just lie on the floor and stare at our tree - even when it was one of those metal trees. Oh, come on! I know "some" of you remember those! Then there is the shopping! Ugghh!! Does anyone hate the crowds like me? That is why I avoided Black Friday like the plague!! I'd rather pay that extra bit just to save my sanity!!

Anyway, once I've decorated for the holidays, maybe I'll get some of those house pics posted as promised!

New Blog Challenge at THE PAPER ELEMENT

The design team is posting the first challenge at The Paper Element blog Come check it out - you might win a wonderful Paper Element prize!!!

We're in!

No photos to post yet - can't find my little thingy to download my pics, but ahh, it would only be of boxes anyway - except for the pool that is. It turned out beautiful, and Brett and I had a little fun in the spa the other night. Just brought Yankee home from the lake house today. He did his exploring, and has already settled on top of his favorite chair.

My scrap space is by no means organized, and most likely wont be for a week. I swear I am going to get to my DT work. Sorry for letting you guys hang out to dry - just unfortunate circumstances, but you have all been so great and understanding!!

I think Hayden needs to get settled as well. We had a couple of set backs. Twice now he has gone peepee in his pants. One of those was when I was already having a melt down. When he came to me saying what he did I just sat down and cried. I swear I am never moving again!

Anyway, I do hope to be back to normal in a week or so.... hang tight.... I might actually do a lo soon. :) I've missed all my friends so much!

A Long Time Coming And Still Not There!

UGGGHHH!!! Well after living out in the boonies (ok, we've been having fun on the boat, fishing on the dock, swimming in the pool....roughing it is hard you know) with no internet and living out of a suitcase for a month, we were "supposed" to close on our new home tomorrow. How sad for us :( that Hurricane Ike last Saturday snapped our soon to be neighbor's pine tree and planted in straight into our new roof! We had water damage all the way to the bottom floor. Yep, now we can't move in!! We are so bummed! Now we have to wait until the water damage is taken care of. We are soooo ready to be settled!! Let alone I want to decorate my new digs!!! Plus I miss scrapping! I "think" I still remember how. Anyway, I know I have neglected my blog, but that's what happens when you don't have internet! Man, it is like having an apendage missing! So, that's the scoop.... I'll be back when I can!

Our New Digs!

Well after a crazy 10 day house hunt and narrowing it down, Brett and I decided on a new home that is almost finished. The movers come to our home here in MA to pack us up on Tuesday and Wednesday. I've snagged my shopping cart to carry all my belongings, since we will be homeless for about a month or so. Anyway, I am utterly exhausted and it aint over yet!

The Hunt Is On!!

Well, after 3 weeks on the market we sold our home! Yes, we are really lucky in todays' market! This lady wants almost all my stuff too! She aint getting it. She put my beautiful pot rack in the contract. Man, I loved that pot rack too. She wants my bed in my guest room and whatever else I'd want to sell. Do you realize how long it too me to get Brett to buy me guest beds. No way am I going back to just a bed frame!!

Anyway, I leave tomorrow morning to go house shopping. I've been looking at homes online, and wow! There is just so much more that you can get for your money down south. I am so looking forward to putting Hayden in a game room and letting him free - no more toys all over my family room!! Now, I can't stop him from getting toilet paper all over his bathroom - doesn't matter how many times I tell him toilet paper is NOT a toy - does he listen? I guess not! Ok, how'd I get off subject?

Soooo, I am there for a week. I am hoping I can find something, so we don't have to put our stuff in storage. Brett doesn't get that I need my scrap stuff!! Well, not only for DT stuff, but I NEED it!! :)

Ok, so Brett gave his notice yesterday as well. He has been with this company for 22 years right out of college. He is going through so many emotions right now i.e. guilt, sadness, relief, happiness.... They are all over the place. I guess I'd feel the same, but hey, I've been a bum since 1995. I like my day job - lol Well, actually raising a wild 4 year old boy does have its demands. Well, we are just embarking on that next chapter in our lives. We will be closer to family and close friends. We really want that for Hayden. Family is what matters.

See ya when I get back!!

Redeeming Myself - Rose Moka

Ok, since I booted my blog post about their fab papers because Stacey wanted me to play along in her tag, I have a couple more lo's using the fabulous new line Appel de la Nature!

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Sorry Rose Moka (but I've got a chance of getting a RAK)

Ok, so Stacey tag me (yeah, I'm one of "the Susans). I just posted my RM stuff and they are already getting booted - bah, I'm so sorry - did I mention the rak?

Here goes

Two names you go by: one there are many but Tootie (no that is NOT how I got it!!) Tuna (ok you try saying Susan when you just turn two!)

The things that you are wearing right now: My pajama shirt (yes, I dropped off Hayden to daycare wearing it) and gray work out pants (no work out not included)

Two of your favorite things to do: Love me some scrapbooking and love me some shopping - so nice how they go together!

Two things you want very badly at this moment: I want all my move stuff to be over and to be settled. To lose about 40 lbs (overnight if possible)

Two pets that you have or had: Yankee and Doodle (cats) and Bartel's and Jaymes (cats) Yes I can count, but they came in pairs so that is two - right?

Two things you did last night: Drank too much - celebrating the sell of our house - cash buy too! Fed all three of my boys.

Two things you did today: Got my new DT stuff in "finally" from Canada - so I did three lo's! Made flight arrangements for a house trip - you know to get my new mansion that comes with a scrap room!! Yeah, right.

Two things you ate today: My Honey Dew large Hazelnut Iced Coffee (yes, dangit, Starbucks is about 20 minutes away!) and a chicken salad sandwich from the little local pizza joint just around the corner - remember I live just off Main Street - this is good and bad!

Two people I talked to today: My realtor and the Southwest person on the phone

Two things you are doing tomorrow: I need to get a birthday present and of course, always a priority - scrap!

Two memorable vacations: A trip with my teen group at church during high school. We slept in tents and I had a 102 fever. Scotland!! So magical and pretty!! Not to mention all the cute baby lambs every where!!

Two favorite holidays: I love Christmas and Thanksgiving - family together is the funnest - did I mention that Santa visits as well!

New Rose Moka Release *Appel de la Nature*

I "finally" got my DT goodies in from Canada! Man, it took forever!! This line is so versatle! You can see I did different styles with the same papers! I had a lot of fun with them!

Going for Cosmo Cricket DT - YES! I "know" I am crazy!

Well, after dubious sneaking around by Jon, I found out that Cosmo Cricket is looking for some new DT members. (Jon, I'll be sending you that little gift we talked about - our secret ya know) Needless to say, I am trying out with the rest of the scrapping world for the Cosmo Cricket DT. I mean who wouldn't! I hardly stand a chance since there is such awesome talent out there, but you never know unless you try, right? Anyway, here is one of my lo's for submission to them with their line "Hello Sunshine". Wish me luck!

Two New Graphic 45 Lines coming out at CHA

I got my DT goodie package yesterday. You guys are going to "love" the new Graphic 45 lines!! One is so fun and the other - oh so pretty! Sorry, no peekie peekie just yet - don't worry your time will come!! Besides I just got my stuff - I'm fast, but not always "that" fast. Oh, and there's the fact that I can't show you just yet!! Trust me you will love the new stuff!!!

Here is what Graphic 45 had to say in their blog:

Graphic 45 is excited to announce the release of our two new fabulous collections “Playtimes Past” and “Botanicabella.” Both feature the rich vibrant color, imaginative design and vintage charm Graphic 45 is known for. “Playtimes Past” flashes back to an era when little boys could be found playing with their trains and tinker toys while little girls played with their paperdolls for hours. Amazing possibilities with an allure of antiquity are found in “Botanicabella’s” timeless textures and rich patina’s.
We will unveil our beautiful new collections here on our website July 1st. Pre-orders will be taken ahead of the CHA Summer show. Don’t forget to mark your show schedule to come see us at booth #2202 (Hall A) at the CHA Summer show in Chicago. We will be featuring imaginatively papercrafted projects for you to gather ideas for future classes and customer CROPS!

National Scrapbook Day

Friday and yesterday were my first experience with this wonderful event. OMG, so much fun. I has to hostess two challenges at Freckle Friends. I wasn't sure how I'd do since I have never even been to a real crop let alone an online crop!! It was a breeze and a blast. Whoa, a lot of pressure trying to run up and down two flights of stairs from the computer to my scrap table. My laptop is on the first floor and my scrap stuff the third!! I've had good exercise the last two days!! Yesterday, I actually even won a little prize at I was so tickled when I saw my name listed. I just don't understand why I didn't win the $500 prize. I mean really! One of the challenges there was to do one with journaling. I was smart and combined it with a crops I was doing at Freckle Friends and A Million Memories. I'm crazy, but not that crazy!! I hope you enjoy my lo.

Thursday, May 1, 2008

These two lo's are done using the fabulous new Teresa Collins line. All items from the kit except cardstock, AC Thickers, Heidi Swapp letters, and ribbon. The big black letters are Cosmo Cricket's new blackboard line and are a part of the kit. You can check it out here at Freckle Friends
