Double the Fun for You Today!

Well, we just got back from back-woods Louisiana last night, where we don't have internet or a cell phone signal.  Yes, I survived, but only because I downloaded a few books to my kindle before I left home.  We had a good Christmas, and as usual, there were tons of us since Brett's family is pretty huge!

Anyway, down to business.  These are a little late, but better late than never right!?!  First off, let me share with you this past Wednesday's Twisted Sketches that I made.  The "twist" this week was to use "remember" in our layout - any how - any way.   If you'd like to play along just click on the link.

Now on to this past Thursday's Color Combos Galore.   Our designer challenge this week is to use "mesh" on or work.  This week's color combo was a little tricky, but I did it anyway.  Hmm.... I guess that is why it is a challenge right?  Just click on the link to play along!

I also squeezed in a little card as well.

Color Combos Galore 172

Happy Holidays everyone!!  Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it is still a joyous time of the year. Having a little one makes it even more enjoyable and special. I love seeing the excitement and anticipation on Hayden's little face on Christmas morning.

Our color combo over at Color Combos Galore  are pretty much our traditional Christmas colors.  Therefore it seem appropriate to do a layout centered around Christmas.  I love this photo of my little guy with Santa (although he isn't too "happy" about it).  Hope you guys will play along with us this week!

Color Combos Galore 171

Are you feeling blue?  Well that's what we are this week over at Color Combos Galore.  Ok, not really blue, but that is what we are scrapping!  Funny, I didn't think I would like this combo because I like brighter colors, but I like how my layout turned out.  Be sure to click on the link above, if you'd like to see the inspiration over there and play along!

Twisted Sketches Number 80 is Up!

When I saw this week's sketch it was perfect for my photos.  I needed to do a side by side photo layout.  Do you see the similarity between the two photos?  Can you tell who is who?  I know it's hard, lol.  He, hee when I saw this photo of my hubby, I immediately thought about the little ball character from Jack in the Box!  Anyhoooo, if you'd like to play along, come join us over at Twisted Sketches.  Our "twist" this week is to use pop dots.

Sugar Sweet with Nikki Sivils!

Hey everyone!  Thought I would share with you a layout I made using Nikki Sivils using her line Sugar Cookie.   You can also see I used some of her cute little burlap buttons in the upper left hand corner of my lo.  Us girls over at Nikki Sivils teamed up with Creative Charms as well.  Those adorable felt flowers with the pearl centers are from them.  You can hop on over to Nikki's blog  for more inspiration.

Hey everyone! Can you believe it is getting close to yet another holiday???  Our challenge over at Color Combos Galore is about gifts.  This could be anything - even the ways you might be "gifted".  I chose to do a layout of Hayden riding the bike that my beloved and wonderful sister gave him last year.  I hope you will play along with us!

How Cool Is This For Me....

I just got my box from Cards Magazine, and I was pleasantly surprised to see I had a two page spread (well, not quite a spread, but two pages!) in the August 2010 issue.  I created this card when I was on the Pebbles Inc. design team using one of my favorite lines from them "Tree House".  Anywho, just giving a little toot because I didn't know until now.

Color Combos Galore Inspiration Board 169 is Up!

This week's inspiration board is so soft and pretty.  I love the colors, especially since I don't get to do girlie colors that often!  Our challenge was to add sparkle.  Umm, I forgot... but my buttons are somewhat shiny, right?

What's Going On??

I basically nabbed this from the Twisted Sketches Blog.  I wanted to make sure all of my special followers were aware of this awesome new product available to you.  I was so honored to have been asked to be a part of it as well!  Check it out!!..............

a special announcement

I am interrupting this blog for a quick post to let you know about a brand new iphone app that is now on sale :) It is a mobile SEARCHABLE collection of over 100 unique sketches for your iphone, ipad or itouch.

New iPhone App for Scrapbookers!

Just released by Kihaku Designs aka Anam Stubbington – Sketch Artist for My Mind’s Eye, Prima Marketing, and Twisted Sketches – Sketches2Scrapbook is a Scrapbooking Sketch application that will allow you to think creatively on the go with over 100 unique sketches and layouts to keep you inspired.
Most Scrapbookers are people with busy lives – always on the go and trying to fit scrapbooking in with everything else. When they do get to scrapbook, they bring their phone with them… to the crops, at the store, to their scrapbooking space.
Sketches2Scrapbook is a totally self-contained system where you can search the sketches for the one that suits the layout you want to make – you can search by style, by number of photos, by embellishments, even by the number of different papers you want to use.
Once you have your sketch selected, you can flip to see a sample layout made by some awesome Scrapbookers from around the world. Each of the beautiful layouts comes with a supply list of all the products they used to create the sample layout.
This App will help you to find the perfect sketch for your photos saving you both time and tote space – no need for magazines and books taking up valuable paper or embellishment space, no need to sit in front of your computer or print our online sketches to take with you. And when you are out at the store, you can use the app to pre-plan your layouts and even use the supplies list to remake the layouts with your own photos.
With 104 sketches, you have enough to make 2 layouts every week for a year plus the 12 free sketches for 1 extra layout each month (the Lite version comes built into the full version as extra sketches) – that’s a lot of inspiration especially with the sample layouts added as they are inspiring in their own right.
Sketches2Scrapbook is a way to give you more time and space to scrapbook by keeping all the sketches you need at your fingertips.
The full version is currently $4.99.
The free aka demo version is here.

My Mother in Law Just Might Kill Me.... but I had to do it!

This is for this week's Twisted Sketches #76 challenge.  Our twist is to use "history" in our layout - any way any how.  I thought about doing a serious layout, but I had this photo of my hubby's mom.  Not only is she sticking her tongue out at me, but she's got that goofy looking cover thing over her head so the wind doesn't mess up her hairdo.   Anyway, this quote with the word "history" in it just seem so appropriate for this photo.  Anam should have the sketch up at the site later on this evening.  I hope you'll play along with us!

Black cardstock (misc); Scallop paper - KI, Border Strips - KI; Pattern paper - Cosmo Cricket; Felt flowers - Basic Grey;  Chipboard letters - Lush; Sticker letters - Pink Paislee

A Fond Farewell for Me

Today is my last blog post for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I didn't go out again for the team.  I think the ribbon ideas have above run dry in the inspiration department.  I look forward to seeing what some of the new design team girls come up with.  However, they will not see the last of me.  I still plan on spending my money over there.  Bonnie is continually getting great ribbons... in her store.  Every time I look there is something new! Here is my farewell layout using what I love best - dots and gingham!

Here is a close up for you.

My Blog Winners And A Little Etsy Cruising!

Well, because it's my prerogative I decided to pick "two" winners. One was done the old fashioned way and one by I asked my son to pick any number between 1 and 33.  He said 22!  That makes my first winner Ms. Jen!!

True Random Number Generator
28 which is laterg8r!!

My two blog winners are Ms. Jen and  laterg8r!  I will see if I can contact you guys by email for your address and full name.  If not you can email me at
Don't be disappointed if you did not win.  I will be doing another blog give-away sometime in the future.  I really really really need to clean out my scraproom, and I have tons of stuff that I don't use!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ok, now on with part two of today's post.  I was doing a little crusing, and came across these cute little cards.  I really don't know how some people have the patience to do something like this.  I have never once finished even the smallest cross-stitch pattern, lol.  These cards are amazing and not to mention they are as adorable as can be.   If you like this, you can find more of her cute work at her Esty site Little Pink House.

Here are a couple art pieces that are in the Little Pink House Esty store.

Want To Win Some Goodies? Like Graphic 45, Pebbles, Inc. or Momenta?

I would have gladly taken a photo for you, but to be honest I'm just too lazy to do that right now!  LOL  However, if you follow me, you will know that I was on the design team for Graphic 45 since their beginning.  I did not go for it this past call.  Upon my leaving because I was the dt coordinator and blog hostess, G45 graced me with lots of yummy G45 paper.  It is not the current release, but still wonderful!  I also have some great stuff from Momenta and Pebbles, Inc.

All I ask is that you "follow me", and leave a little comment about how much you want to win my give-away.  If you already follow me, that is great!  Still leave a comment for your chance to win! I'll pick a random winner this coming up Wednesday the 27th.

Whew What A Weekend!!

I know most of you follow me to see my latest scrapping goodies, but I thought I'd share a little of my life as well!  As you know we have a puppy who I and my son fondly call "the wild beast".  This is partly because she is just plain and simply wild due to the fact that she's HUGE and almost five months old!  I have no idea how she got so big so quickly!  Anywho, we went to Louisiana for Brett's mom's 75th birthday party.  Jolie, the puppy, stayed at the Cypress Fall Pet Resort and Spa, bwhahaa!!  That cracks me up.  So far I have received no phone calls about any damage that she may have caused.  I am keeping my fingers crossed when I go pick her up!  (I mean I am keeping my fingers crossed for "no damage").

Well, it is a five hour drive to Cajun land down there.  We drove down Saturday night - had the party yesterday at the park - drove back last night - WHEW!   We had a crazy awesome time.  Brett's family is big - five of them kids with the spouses, their children, their children's children and some of them so on....  Let it be said right now - yes, I did great in English!  I can write properly, but I prefer to write like I talk or think.  Get used to it from me. :)   I thought I would share some photos of the crazy party we had.  It was so fun!!

The character that looks like the "Jack in the Box" ball below is my goofy hubby Brett.

Sack races Cajun style - in "crawfish sacks" of course!  Karson, our nephew and God child would not step foot in a crawfish sack until he was sure there were no crawfish in them!

There is my goofy husband again!!  Ya think that sack is a little small for him?

You feeling sorry for me yet?  Yep, this is what I have to live with!!

Mama Rena pinning the nose on Elmo.  Oh, and I must share a mother's proud moment. "My son" Hayden was the only one to get it the nose right where it belonged.  His achievements in life make me so proud.

Poor Leenie.  She just wasn't getting it.  We kept saying left.  We finally had to break down and tell her "her (other) left".

Mama Rena swing at air.  It didn't help that every time she swung Uncle Todd would pull the lady bug pinata up in the air.  He's such a meanie.

Ah Yah!!  Who knew one little lady bug would be so hard to kill?!?  We finally had to resort to  pulling her strings to get her open.  She (or he - they say lady bugs are male, right??) was one tough little lady!

Our newest addition, Gavin was just pooped out over all the excitement!  After this we had a little trip to the water, where the kids decided it was best to get all wet and muddy because we were getting ready to go home.  I would have pictures, but my camera battery also decided it was time to poop out.

All in all, a good trip and a good time....except for that 5 hour drive back to Houston and the kid in the back seat asking "are we almost there" every 15 minutes.  :)  All in all, a good weekend.
