This was a no-brainer for me!! I love anything and everything hot pink!! Now give me something baby pink, and I'll likely puke, uggh. LOL, sorry if you love it. I am especially drawn to hot pink flowers. I think my hubby hates that they tend to dominate our flower beds, lol. My scraproom is even done with splashes of hot pink throughout. Funny thing is growing up as a little girl, I loved lavender. Too bad I don't have a little girl to scrap. My jealousy runs deep when I see all these cute girlie pages that people do. I try to get photos of any girls in my family that I can, just so I can get my fix! Anyway, I had fun doing this lo, because I got to put hot pink everywhere! I hope that you can come join in the fun over at the Scrap Yourself challenge blog.
Take a look at this "sneak peek" of My Little Shoebox's "Cute as a Button" coming out at the summer CHA.
Don't ya just love it?! Thanks for stopping by everyone!
Yesterday morning I received an email from a gentleman with Photovisi.com. It is a company that lets you create collages from your photos. I tried it, and I like it. The heart collage is definitely my favorite, but you should check it out yourself.
I used a mix of American Crafts papers for this lo. I love their papers because they have so many bright and fun color combinations!! Anyway, hope you like the lo!!

NOW FOR THAT "MY LITTLE SHOEBOX" CHA SUMMER SNEAK PEEK!! Be careful and not to get drool on my computer! :)
Here is the last bit of my submissions. I've tried to show the versatility of styles that I have. I had a lot of fun doing them all!! The purse is something I over a year ago, but I figured it didn't hurt to throw it in.
Here are just a couple of more layouts that I have made for the call. This first one is using papers from various lines of theirs. That beautiful photo is courtesy of my sweet and wonderful friend Chery Nelson and her gorgeous daughter.
I absolutely loved this week's color combo!! I guess since I have a boy, I don't always get to use those girlie papers. Although, that is a photo of my baby on this lo!! Sometimes it is just too bad for him. He gets scrapped in girlie colors and flowers from time to time. I just have to do it - he can get over it, lol! Here is this week's color combination:
For me, I totally love he coloe combo choice, ,and I loved working the Scalllops. It totallay helped that I had the right paper for the job in my ATD-Momenta Papers. They worked great with this challenge!
Be sure to swing by Color Combos Galore to play along and for a chance to be this weeks featured artist.
I also used my wonderful Really Reasonable Ribbon product for this lo. For instructions on how to make this banner check out my tutorial on their blog HERE tomorrow. I really had so much fun doing this lo for Twisted Sketches. Our "twist" was to use flags on lo, so I choose to make a banner. I really like how this turned out! Come play along with us!
Yeah, I know..... this is only "one" piece of the collection! She's down right mean isn't she?! I am loving what I see so far though. I think this might be my favorite since "My Sweet Cherry Pie". Who knows maybe she'll break down and let us see the rest of it! I hope so.
And, yes, you got it! I am throwing my hat in the ring for them. I have always loved their papers. I still have some from when I first started scrapping three years ago! Here are a couple that I just recently did, and the blooming one is also for this weeks The Color Room palette #11. Swing by there and play along! This lo below is of our fabulous old home that we lived in while we were in Massachusetts. I loved that old house!
Although I didn't go for year three with Graphic 45, I still love them. They are one of the mfgs. that gave me my first break - not to mention that they are just so sweet over there. I am totally in love with this new Halloween line "Hallowe'en in Wonderland". I think it is great that the theme is "Alice in Wonderland" but with a Halloween twist! How clever you are Diane!! This makes me all the more curious to see what else Graphic 45 has in store for us. I have to say I am excited to see it and soon!!
Yesterday, my friend Nat (Nathalie Kalbach) who is a designer for Scrap Art Zine, a German magazine told me my blog and Heidi Kelly's blog were featured on the blog for the magazine. I was like, wow, what an honor!! Heidi is third down and I am last.
Nat was kind of enough to translate what was written to English. Here is what they wrote:
Susan's layouts describe pure vitality. The colorful and lovingly details let ones heart beat faster. There are also many unique projects on her blog. I'm faszinated by her ability to do the most beautiful creations out of simple materials. Her ability to work with papers is amazing. This is a blog worth a frequently visit.
Happy Father's Day everyone! As you can see by the photo below our future little baby is getting bigger. There is a proud papa in that household somewhere, lol. Because it is a special weekend, Bonnie over at Really Reasonable Ribbon is offering a 15% off all ribbons thru Sunday using the promotional code JUNESALE - Father's Day. You guys see how often I use ribbon on my layouts. You could call me a ribbon junkie, if you wanted to. Also, there is a great challenge going on at the site. Check it outhere. We would love for you to play along!
I love it when we get new pics of our little one (which ever one she may be), and I can't wait until we are able to go pick out our sweet little one! Right now they have this really dark face, but the older they get their whole body is going to lighten up and the fur will get long like a sheep dog. Hayden is getting really excited. Let's see how excited he'll be when I tell him to pick up his toys so they don't become puppy chow!
This weeks color combinations was a doosey for me!! I guess that is why it is called a challenge blog right?! Thank goodness for my Momenta papers, or I might not have had them in my stash!! This challenge pushed me outside my box. LOL, as a matter of fact, so did last weeks! I did a true little boy page for this challenge, which I hardly ever do. I finally used those dinasaur chipboard pieces I've had around! Anyway, below is the Color Combos Galore inspiration board #147.
Here is my layout using the color combination.
Thanks for stoppin by! Hope you play along with us!
I keep pushing myself to come up with unique ideas on how to use my ribbons on a layout. I got the idea to tie it around my chipboard frames this week. I kind of like the way it turned out. I wish my photos were better, but I took these with my little cheapy camera when we went sailing the other evening. If I had know it was going to be a huge sailboat, I would have brought my big camera. I thought we'd be scooping and water would be splashing on board - ummm... not. I couldn't even reach the water!! However, it was still beautiful, and Hayden had a blast. He enjoyed getting to steer the big sailboat.
Well, I can sing; I can cook; I can dance; I can decorate.... These talents aren't hidden though. I guess most people, other than family, do not know that I can mimmick animal sounds. I do a rockin baby kitten, lol! I can gobble "up" and gobble "like" a turkey. I can bark like a dog and even got my husband practicing his bark when we were dating. Mind you, his barking in front of a mirror in a hotel lobby was "not" my doing - I promise! Anywho... Here is my lo for the challenge.
First I have to ask you to bare with me, while I work on my blog. I was in the mood to change it, and I am not the most techincal person. I have slowly figure it out - see this is why I don't digital scrapbook! I'm hopeless! Anyway, here are the new gals! (copied and pasted from Nikki's blog)

We received so many submissions that it was extremely difficult to pick just a select few! Thank you to all of you who submitted, we loved reading your blogs and checking out all of your fantastic work!
These ladies have been selected for the Monthly Guest Design Team:
These ladies were our Honorable Mentions:
I love these photos of my nephew Karson. When I saw the photos, I also knew that Nikki Sivils "Dan the Record Man" line would be absolutely perfect for them. I also used some of my fabulous ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I like adding just ribbon strips to a lo along with paper strips to give a lo a little more texture. You should check out both sites! Nikki's papers are so fun and what girl can ever get enough ribbon in her life!
Recently I was asked to be part of the design team for Color Combos Galore. I am really enjoying the challenge of certain color combinations - some of them I would not normally put together. On top of that we have a little extra challenge to do as well! This week it is stitching. I did little stitches around my circle frame. This color combination is surely something that I would "never" do, but I am glad I had to step outside my box to try something different! I hope you will play along and come join us in this week's challenge at Color Combos Galore. I think you will love this weeks color combo! Below is our color combo and my take on the challenge:
Hey all! It is time for another Twisted Sketches! I hope you'll swing by the blog over at Twisted Sketches so you can play along. Anam alway has the best schetches to play with as well as a little twist to make it interesting. I used papers from Momenta for my layout. I am having such a blast using all their great combination of papers since I joined their design team! Anyway, here is my lo!
I love this last release of rub-ons from Pebbles, Inc. I have been out of town and just got back late (too late) last night. I did however, want to share my card I did a week ago that was posted on the Pebbles, Inc. Blog this week while I was away. I hope you check out the link for more inspiration using their adorable rub-ons.
I also used pattern paper from the Treehouse collection, Pebbles, Inc. Ribbon and their really fun "Snapshot" stickers to make this card. - Thanks for visiting my blog!!
If you have been wondering about my little teaser last week, well here is my big news! I am so excited to asked to be a part of the absolutely amazing design team and challenge blog. Take a look at the fabulous names that I will have the pleasure of design with on the team:
I hope you check out Color Combos Galore and take a peek at this week,s challenge. Here is my layout for this week. I just love the color combination #145 this week!
If you just love these papers, then you must check out ATD - Momenta, especially if you love wonderful color combinations. Their paper pads give you a huge array of choices when it comes to putting projects together.
This challenge over at Scrap Yourself Challenge Blog was my pick this go around. I chose to scrap about the most important decision of my life. Here's my little write up about it:
My challenge is to scrap "Your Most Important Decision In Your Life". I know we all have made them. Maybe it was going back to school?; changing careers?; becoming a stay at home mom; leaving a relationship?; staring a new one?
Whatever it might be, it is likely it has changed you in some way. Mine was to have a child. I wasn't sure about being a mom. I didn't want to be "my mom" or resent having a child. I was almost 41 when I had my little boy. It was a huge decision for me, and it turned out to be the best decision as well.
So, let's here it. What is that "big" decision that change you?
My journaling reads:
Having you was the most important decision in my life. I was so afraid I would turn out to be the mom that "my mom" was to me. I never wanted to be the kind of mom who put someone else before her child and did not protect them. I wanted to be a mom where her child knew they were loved above anything else. It took years of counseling and the belief of others to make me see that I might be a good mom. I almost waited to late, since I was nearly forty-one when you were born. I can't tell you how thankful I am that God made it possible to conceive you, Hayden. You are everything and so much more to me.
